“Start With the Spark: How I Build a Creative Shoot from the Ground Up”

Every memorable shoot — whether it's a music video, portrait session, or editorial campaign — begins the same way: with a gut feeling. A vibe. A visual spark.

I don’t start with a shot list. I start with a mood.

That initial spark gets shaped by a few key questions:

  • What emotion do I want this to evoke?

  • Who is the audience?

  • What location, lighting, and gear will best serve the tone?

From there, I build a shoot plan that’s flexible but focused — always leaving room for improvisation, because some of the best stuff happens in the in-between moments.

Pre-production, camera work, and editing all revolve around that first idea. That’s what keeps the final product feeling cohesive and intentional.

If it feels like art with a purpose — mission accomplished.
